This spot continues to be used today buy those willing to trek to these heights. We referred to the pond as Runquist Pond because there is a good chance Carl Runguis camped at this spot while he painted this area. There are a set of peaks that can be identified in his paintings if one know what to look for. - Robert Hagberg
