Kate Lackman
Kate Lackman is an American contemporary realist painter predominantly known for her figurative work in oil paintings and sculpture. A native of Tennessee, the artist currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lackman studied art at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she received her BFA and has studied under many influential instructors throughout the United States.
Lackman began painting professionally at the age of 16, painting portraits at a National Amusement Park. Her lifelong fascination with painting, drawing and sculpting the human form in a wide range of enigmatic visual and emotional states has given way to an extensive portfolio of work that illustrates the artist’s dexterity in capturing the unknowable of the human spirit. The artist continues to create paintings in oil incorporating traditional techniques. Here, the artist hones her exquisite attention to detail, producing complex layers of color, shading and texture.
